Jaume Vilaseca (Barcelona 1968) studied piano and harmony at the Barcelona Municipal Conservatory and the Liceu. He completed his training with courses and seminars at Taller de Músics, Liceu and Esmuc. He also graduated in Hispanic Philology from the University of Barcelona.

He has worked as a pianist in different jazz and Brazilian music formations in the city, leaving his mark in numerous live performances and in very relevant recording works. Some examples are Makaroff (18 Chulos 2002), Bossanovando (Subterfuge 2004) or the recordings with the jazz singer Anna Luna, such as Spring is here (New Mood Jazz 2004), Sketches (New Mood Jazz 2007) and Femenina (Quadrant records 2011 )
Since the release of the album "Aquí i allà “ (Discmedi 2002) he has led a jazz-fusion quartet that has maintained the roots of jazz while searching for rhythms and melodies close to Latin music and flamenco. This very personal approach and at the same time musically agile, and the launch of a third work "World Songs" (Discmedi 2005) has led them to perform at Jazz Festivals around the world: Manizales Jazz Festival, Colombia (2005), Beijing Jazz Festival, China (2007), Penang Jazz Festival, Malaysia (2008), Manchester Jazz Festival, England (2009), Marni Festival Flagey Brussels, Belgium (2010), Naguanagua jazz festival, Venezuela (2010), Ajazzgo Festival- Cali, Colombia (2010), Barranquijazz, Colombia (2010), Jarasum festival, South Korea (2010), San Javier Jazz Festival, Spain (2011), Barcelona Jazz Festival (2011) and 2014) Jazz Festival of Lugo, Almería, Madrid, Festival Fabrica de la Isleta in the Canary Islands, Jazz Festival of Kosice (Slovakia) Jazz Festival of Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic)...

It should also be noted the presence at the Barcelona Grec Festival 2006, the start of the "World Songs" tour with the Philadelphia singer based in Barcelona, Violetta Curry.

In 2008, the quartet released an album "Jazznesis" with Genesis compositions (1970-1974) brought to the jazz field.

In 2010, the first live album arrives, recorded at Blue Frog in Mumbai, India. Mumbai (Discmedi 2010).

2012 is the year of "Coming home", the quartet's sixth work, the result of intense collaboration with sitarist Ravi Chary.

In 2014, the band's seventh and last album was released: JAZZNESIS II.

In 2018, he published an album with Manel Fortià and Roberto Faenzi. "Moments" (Discmedi 2018). There was also the second album with the group Alma Brasilerira, Viagem nova (Fresh sound 2018) and the latest work with Anna Luna, Urubú (2018). He also toured Brazil, presenting a Tom Jobim tribute album with Anna Luna “Simplesmente Jobim” (2015). This year the trio begins an intense collaboration with singer Karen Souza on numerous international tours: Japan, Korea, China, Italy, France, Spain, etc.

In 2019, the third Jazznesis album will be released. End of the trilogy.

In 2020, they release a new project with JV trio, called Tarkology, a jazz tribute to the music of Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

And in 2021 it is worth highlighting the performance with Karen Souza at the Sack von Sound Festival in Saku, Estonia, in collaboration with the ÜENSO Orkester.

In 2022, he publishes an electronic jazz album based on the music of the band The Alan Parsons Project "Jazz & Parsons Project" and in 2023 "FOUR SUITES", dedicated to the music of the British band YES. His latest collaboration with Anna Luna is on the album “Argentina besa el Mediterráneo”.

He is currently a professor at the Liceu School of Modern Music and combines his teaching activity with his work as a pianist and keyboard player both as a leader or as a sideman.
